We are hiring an Oven Lead Hand at our Sofina plant in Belleville, ON.

Position Summary
The Oven Lead Hand is responsible for leading and executing daily oven operations, including cooking, product handling, sanitation, and monitoring activities. This role performs hands-on operational tasks while also leading team activities to ensure consistent execution of processes. Responsibilities include monitoring cooking temperatures, completing inspections and checklists, and ensuring proper product flow through the operation. The Lead Hand also ensures adherence to Quality, Food Safety, and Health & Safety standards while supporting and driving production targets.
Responsibilities
- Completes Pre-op, daily operations inspection, condensation and other checklists
- Delivers product to ovens, determines where product should be placed to meet cook requirements
- Monitors internal temperatures during cooking and cooling
- Completes temperature monitoring checklists
- Weigh product and accurately record weight and number of pieces
- Completes work orders accurately
- Transfers product from oven to wash area to cooler
- Monitors ovens, cooler and all controlled temperatures in the plant
- Sanitizes ovens
- Operates oven computer
- Transfers waste to rendering area
- Opening and de-caging/peeling of product and sanitation of RTE area
- Execution of all job functions shall be done in accordance with Quality and Food Safety procedures
- Works in accordance with all Health & Safety Regulations
- Leads people, enforces process and procedures, and supports the team with tasks required to meet production targets
REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Work independently
- Good communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Teamwork
