Concorde Airport Services – Journeyman Millwright
Purpose and Objective:

Specific Responsibilities:
- To maintain, repair, install and modify mechanical equipment on passenger loading bridges, facility mechanical systems, and Janitorial equipment in accordance with Concorde and Airport Authority prescribed standards, and equipment manufacturer’s specifications.
- Align gear boxes, electric motors, drive pulleys, drive chains, canopy drive mechanisms, suspension bearings, clutches and brakes, and suspension rods, roller shafts, bearings.
- Adjust/calibrate bridge equalizing cables, canopy drive systems, hydraulic lifts, chain drives, belt drives and torque arms, cab curtains.
- Lubricate bearings, chain drives, linkages and tracks.
- Weld fractured metal on loading bridges or any other equipment as required.
- Manufacture/fabricate new hardware and equipment.
- Operate milling lathe, cut new shafts, pulleys, gears and misc. hardware.
- Sharpen drill bits and tools as required.
- Replace defective belts, rollers, bearings, mechanical hardware, gear boxes, linkage mechanisms, chains and cog belts, pulleys, sprockets, bumper guards, cab and rotunda curtains, loading bridge tires, chain wear strips, bridge equalizing cables, hydraulic seals and oil, hydraulic control solenoids, cylinders, gauges, filters, hoses, canopy drive units, and straps.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on passenger loading bridges, facility mechanical systems, and Janitorial equipment.
- Conduct daily checks on passenger loading bridges and facility mechanical systems. Weekly check on Janitorial equipment.
- Clean mechanical equipment, loading bridges, hydraulic units, rotunda assemblies, wheel bogies, cab curtains, and associated equipment.
- Repair defective or damaged mechanical equipment as required.
- Install and modify new equipment.
- Assist electricians with installation of hardware.
- Follow established safety procedures.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements to Maintain Position
- Must be in possession of a valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate as a Millwright or Red Seal Certification.
- General mechanical knowledge
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driving License.
- Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance (RAIC-Restricted Area Identity Card) and AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit).
- Must be able to pass all job required training.

- Experience working as a Millwright in a large commercial / industrial facility is considered an asset.
