Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dining Room Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences. This role involves welcoming guests, waiting on tables, supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Prior restaurant management or hospitality experience, including food preparation and serving, is highly valued.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dining room staff to ensure efficient service delivery
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and serving to maintain high-quality standards
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Train, interview, and onboard new team members, fostering a positive team environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas and kitchen spaces
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist with restaurant management tasks including inventory control and scheduling
- Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality and customer service
- Support kitchen operations as needed, including food prep and basic cooking tasks
Skills
- Proven supervising or team management experience within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Micros POS and cash handling procedures
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in interviewing and training new employees
- Knowledge of restaurant management practices including inventory control and scheduling
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is a plus; barista experience or restaurant experience is beneficial
- Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically
