Overview
The Niagara River Lions are seeking a vibrant, expressive and enthusiastic performer to bring a new team character to life. This individual will help create memorable experiences for fans through high-energy performances at games, community events and team appearances throughout the Niagara Region.
As a visible ambassador for the organization, this role will help represent the fun, inclusive, and family-friendly spirit of the Niagara River Lions.
Responsibilities:
· Perform as the River Lions' new character at home games, community events, special appearances and team-related activities such as photo and video shoots
· Embody a fun, energetic and playful personality through physical performance and body language
· Interact with fans, pose for photos and help create memorable moments for audiences of all ages
· Represent the organization in a professional and family friendly manner
· Support fan engagement initiatives and community outreach activities
· Assist with the proper care, handling and maintenance of the character costume
Skills/Qualifications:
· Experience in dance, cheer, gymnastics, theatre or other performing arts is considered an asset
· Energetic, creative and outgoing personality
· Comfortable interacting with fans and children in high-energy environments
· Ability to perform in a full character costume for extended periods of time
· Strong ability to communicate and entertain without speaking
· Must have access to reliable transportation
· Ability to perform safely with limited peripheral vision
· Passion for basketball and the Niagara community
Availability:
· Flexible work hours; must be available for daytime, evening and weekend appearances.
