Estimator/Project Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for accurately estimating HVAC projects and managing them from award through completion. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
This opportunity is well suited to either an experienced HVAC/mechanical construction professional or a Mechanical Engineer looking to build a long-term career in estimating and project management.
This role is primarily for retrofit projects such as chillers, boilers, Make Up Air Units, cooling towers, pumps, heat pumps, plumbing, and fan coil risers.

Key Responsibilities:
Estimating
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC systems.
- Perform material take-offs and labor calculations.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals.
- Lead the bid and tender process from start to finish, including strategy development, documentation, and final submission.
- Negotiate and close bids and tenders with clients, consultants, and general contractors.
Project Management
- Oversee awarded projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress and resolve issues to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC estimating and/or project management or a Mechanical Engineering degree with relevant co-op, internship, or industry experience.
- Proven track record in successfully closing bids and tenders.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, ductwork, piping, and controls.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
