Lancor Concrete Contractors Ltd. Is a formwork contractor who specializes in commercial and industrial projects all throughout Atlantic Canada. We are currently looking for a tower crane operator to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate tower crane to lift, move and position heavy construction materials such as formwork modular systems, concrete and steel
- Follow local regulations for safe operation and maintenance of tower cranes
- Conduct pre-operational checks and maintenance of the crane to ensure safe functionality. Report any malfunctions or issues to the site supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, maintenance and inspections
- Communicate with supervision and ground crews to ensure clear and effective communication during crane operations
- Understand load limits and operate within the crane's rated capacity to prevent accidents
- Safely operate crane under various weather conditions and challenging work environments, such as high winds or congested work sites
- Assist in the erection and dismantling of tower cranes
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years operating tower cranes ten (10) tons or larger
- Hold a valid Tower Crane Operators License
- Experience operating tower cranes on busy construction sites
- Strong technical knowledge of crane operations, load charts, safety protocols, and construction site procedures
- Ability to work at heights for extended periods. Good physical health and stamina are required to handle demanding tasks.
- Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate with site supervisors, ground crew, and other team members.
- High level of attention to detail, particularly with load management, equipment checks, and safety procedures.
- Able to work some overtime as required
- Work in different weather situations and site conditions
- Ability and willingness to travel (usual return home for weekends)
