Bakery & Farmers’ Market Lead – Wow Brownies
Approximately 19.5 hours per week | Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays | Starting August 2026
Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour, based on experience
Wow Brownies is a small-batch bakery serving up Edmonton's Best Brownies. We have built a loyal following at Edmonton farmers’ markets and are looking for a dependable, outgoing person who wants to become a key long-term member of our team.
This is a unique role combining hands-on bakery production with independently operating our booth at the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market. You will learn our full kitchen process, help maintain our quality standards, and represent Wow Brownies directly to customers every weekend.
Regular Schedule
Monday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Bakery production, packaging and kitchen organization
Saturday: 7:45 AM–3:00 PM
Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market
Sunday: 10:45 AM–3:00 PM

Approximately 19.5 hours per week. Additional hours may become available for special events, other markets, content creation and business growth opportunities.
Training will take place throughout August. Applicants must be available to take over the regular schedule by the end of August.
Monday Bakery Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake brownies and blondies according to our recipes and quality standards
- Assist with mixing, portioning, topping, baking and packaging
- Keep production organized and moving efficiently
- Maintain a clean and food-safe kitchen
- Check finished products for consistency and quality
- Learn our complete production process
- Help show newer team members how to complete tasks correctly
- Take on greater kitchen responsibility as experience develops
Weekend Market Responsibilities
- Independently operate the Wow Brownies booth at the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market
- Greet customers, offer samples and explain our products and flavours
- Process cash and card sales using Square
- Keep the booth clean, organized and fully stocked
- Monitor inventory and accurately track sales
- Complete a small amount of booth cleanup and takedown at the end of each market
- Represent the Wow Brownies brand in a friendly, professional and enthusiastic way
Who We Are Looking For
- Extremely reliable, punctual and organized
- Available for all three regular weekly shifts
- Comfortable working independently at the market
- Friendly, outgoing and confident speaking with customers
- Detail-oriented and clean in a kitchen environment
- Able to learn established recipes and follow processes consistently
- Comfortable helping guide and train newer staff once fully trained
- Interested in staying with the company and growing into greater responsibility
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Interested in brownies, baking and small-business growth
Previous bakery, kitchen, retail, farmers’ market or customer-service experience is an asset, but we will train the right person.
An interest in social media, photography, short-form video, events or community partnerships is also an asset. A driver’s licence and access to a vehicle would be helpful for possible future markets and events but are not required for the regular position.
Growth Opportunities
We are not looking for someone to fill this position for only a few months. We want someone who can become a trusted long-term member of Wow Brownies.
As the company grows, this role may expand to include:
- Leading parts of bakery production
- Training new employees
- Helping create social-media content
- Attending additional markets and events
- Supporting wholesale and corporate orders
- Bringing forward ideas for new products, partnerships and sales opportunities
Starting pay is based on directly relevant experience. A performance and wage review will be completed after the first three months.
