SurexCARE is seeking energetic, and reliable Community Service Workers to support adults with developmental disabilities in our Summer Camp Program. This role involves supporting participants in recreational activities, community outings, social engagement, and daily programming while promoting inclusion, independence, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Support adults with developmental disabilities during camp activities and outings
- Encourage participation, social interaction, and skill development
- Assist with personal care and daily living needs as required
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Follow agency policies and complete required documentation
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Students in DSW, SSW, CSW, Recreation, Psychology, or related fields encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Vulnerable Sector Check
Additional Assets
- Certification in First Aid/CPR and Safe Management/Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
Requirements
This position is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Candidates must be able to meet the following requirements:
- Must be between the ages of 18-30
- Must be able to work 35 hours per week from July 1-August 31
- Must be Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
Pay: $17.60 per hour
