The Role
We're hiring a Senior Accountant & Team Lead (CPA) to take ownership of a small, high-performing team and a portfolio of our most complex client accounts.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll coach junior accountants, ensure client work is accurate and on time, and be the go-to person when things get tricky. You'll also have a direct line to the Client Financial Controller and a real voice in how we improve our processes.

Work Location & Hybrid Policy
This role starts fully on-site at our Vernon, BC office. Once you've settled into the rhythm of the team, typically after your 3-month probationary period, you'll have the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule. Most of our team works hybrid today, and we're proud of that. But we believe hybrid works best when it's earned through trust and proven independently, not assumed from day one.

What You'll Do
- Lead a small team of Staff Accountants and Associates: set clear goals, track progress, and make sure work gets done right and on time.
- Own a portfolio of large, complex client accounts: handle escalations, cleanups, and intricate accounting challenges with confidence.
- Be the client's trusted advisor: communicate with empathy, meet regularly with key clients, and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Mentor and develop your team: help them grow their technical skills, client communication, and professional judgment.
- Keep work flowing: monitor team capacity, reassign tasks as needed, and remove bottlenecks before they become problems.
- Maintain quality standards: review files, enforce bookkeeping standards, and give direct, useful feedback.
- Drive process improvement: work with the Client Financial Controller to streamline tools, systems, and workflows.
- Support the full team lifecycle: from hiring and onboarding to check-ins, performance feedback, and development planning.
- Champion our culture: model curiosity, ownership, communication, and empathy every day.
Who You Are
- CPA designated with real leadership experience: you've managed both people and client relationships.
- A strong full-cycle accountant: you're technically sharp and comfortable owning complex files end to end.
- Tech-savvy: comfortable with QuickBooks, Dext, Excel, and Google Sheets. Bonus points if you've built automated models or written scripts to eliminate repetitive work.
- A systems thinker: when something feels slow or clunky, you don't just flag it. You fix it.
- An excellent communicator: clear and professional in writing, confident on client calls, direct with your team.
- Detail-oriented and proactive: you catch problems early and solve them before they escalate.
- A natural mentor: you share what you know and invest in the people around you.
