R.O.O.T.S. Afterschool Program Director (ECE Level 2)
Hebron Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (Level 2) to serve as the R.O.O.T.S. Afterschool Program Director. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch and lead a Christ-centered afterschool program serving children and families in the Hebron and greater Yarmouth area.
The successful candidate will provide leadership for a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This role is ideal for an educator who loves working with children and is passionate about integrating Christian values into everyday learning experiences.
About the Program
R.O.O.T.S. (Relying Only On The Savior) is a provincially approved community provider participating in the Nova Scotia Before and After School Care Program. Beginning in September, the program will serve children in Pre-Primary through Grade 5 attending Meadowfields Community School and Port Maitland Consolidated Elementary School. Children will be transported directly from school to Hebron Baptist Church through the local school bus system.

Position Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily operation of the R.O.O.T.S. Afterschool Program.
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that align with the learning curriculum put in place by our Church education team.
- Foster a welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued, and respected.
- Integrate Christian values and faith-based learning opportunities into daily routines and activities.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
- Facilitate daily outdoor play and physical activities.
- Provide effective supervision and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, volunteers, church staff, and community partners.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children's participation and well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial regulations, licensing requirements, and program policies.
- The Program Director will report directly to the Senior Pastor and will work collaboratively with church leadership to ensure the program remains aligned with the mission, values, and vision of Hebron Baptist Church
Required Qualifications
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2 Certification
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Satisfactory Child abuse registry check, Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Experience working with school-aged children
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a licensed childcare or afterschool setting
- Training in Play and Exploration or related early learning approaches
- Experience in children's programming, church ministry, camps, or Christian education

Job Type: Part-Time
Wages: $28.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00pm until 5:30 PM (following the Tri-County School Calendar) Note: PD days 8:00pm-5:30pm
