We are looking for a highly skilled and safety-conscious Heidelberg Pressman to join our busy commercial printing facility in the Vancouver area. You will be responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of our multi-color Heidelberg sheetfed press. If you have a strong eye for color, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing premium print products, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup and Operation: Safely set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-color sheetfed Heidelberg presses.
- Make-Ready: Efficiently manage make-readies, plate hanging, and ink adjustments to minimize paper and ink waste.
- Quality Control: Monitor color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality continuously throughout the press run.
- Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including cleaning rollers, replacing blankets, and maintaining press lubrication.
- Workflow Management: Follow strict production schedules and coordinate with pre-press, bindery, and management to ensure on-time delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of [3-5+] years of proven experience as a lead operator on multi-unit Heidelberg sheetfed offset presses (e.g., Speedmaster, SM, or CD series).
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret complex work orders.
- Color Vision: Excellent color vision and color perception; experience with color management and densitometry is a major asset.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
