Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Hotel General Manager for a Hotel local with 150+ limited service located in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
General Manager experience with Choice Brand is a requirement.
The General Manager, under the direction of the Company Director will be responsible for the overall operations of the Hotel.
Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations, increased profit, and market share.
The candidate must have a good Operational and Sales experience.
- Lead, by example, the effective management of the Rooms, and Engineering functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of guest satisfaction.
- Implement and achieve maximization of room revenue by anticipation of market shifts, development and monitoring of annual business and marketing plans, and participating in appropriate national marketing efforts.
- Training in preparing Business Plan and annual budget and ability to achieve the same.
- Measure the effectiveness of broad-based marketing plans and yield management efforts to maximize the number of market segments needed and to diversify the sources of revenues.
- Conduct regular staff and associate meetings.
- Directly facilitate open associate communications to discern grievances and to respond to these grievances in all appropriate manners including redressing those meriting corrections.
- Direct, manage, train and counsel sales, operation, and revenue management staff.
- Participate in the development of short and long term financial and operational goals of the hotel.
- Ensure that guest satisfaction is consistently obtained and maintained.
- Ability to apply supervisory/management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities and competitive markets.
- Adhere to Company Standard Operating Procedures as well as and policies and procedures contained (but not limited to) in the associate handbook.
Requirements:
- Hotel General Manager experience
- Familiarity with CHOICE systems and brand standards.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management would be an asset
- Hands-on' management style
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Commitment to exceeding guest expectations
- Excellent Computer knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and hotel property management systems
