We are an expanding diagnostic imaging practice based in Calgary, Alberta, providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging, musculoskeletal, obstetrical, interventional radiology, and pain management services. The Opportunity
Beam Radiology is seeking a MRI Technologist to join our team. This role directly supports our commitment to exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and professional integrity. Successful candidates will work closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary clinical teams, contributing to efficient workflow and excellent clinical outcomes at Beam.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards
· Operate and adjust MRI equipment, selecting appropriate technical factors for optimal imaging
· Review imaging requests for appropriateness and patient eligibility
· Maintain MRI safety standards in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
· Ensure quality assurance through completion of quality control procedures and logs
· Support inventory management and ensure clinical areas are appropriately stocked
Patient Care & Support
· Deliver professional, compassionate, and patient-centered care
· Prepare patients for procedures by explaining exam processes and addressing questions or concerns
· Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout procedures
· Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
Clinical / Technical Responsibilities
· Adhere to MRI safety guidelines, regulatory standards, and organizational policies
· Maintain a strong understanding of imaging procedures, protocols, and turnaround expectations
· Assist in training and supporting team members as required
Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
· Complete all required forms and reporting in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards
Collaboration & Communication
· Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
· Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare providers
· Build strong working relationships with colleagues and referring practitioners
Qualifications & Experience
Required
· Diploma or Degree in MRI Technology from an accredited institution
· Current registration and good standing with CAMRT and ACMDTT
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
· Patient-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality care
Preferred / Assets
· Prior experience in MRI imaging
· Experience in diagnostic imaging or healthcare environments
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Work Schedule & Environment
· Role Type: Part Time ( 0.4 FTE; July 2026-March 2027)
· Schedule: Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
· Location: In-person at Beam Radiology (Trinity Hills South)
· Environment: Fast-paced clinical setting requiring attention to detail and patient interaction
