Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems across various facilities. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with HVAC systems, and the ability to interpret schematics. The Refrigeration Mechanic will ensure that refrigeration equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting the overall functionality of our operations.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration units to prevent breakdowns
- Diagnose issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct plumbing and welding tasks as needed for system repairs or upgrades
- Maintain HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Repair appliances related to refrigeration and cooling systems
- Read and interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Assist in construction or modification of refrigeration infrastructure when required
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic or similar role in HVAC, appliance repair, or mechanical maintenance
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, welding, boiler systems, and construction practices
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Experience working with HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks on complex machinery with precision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Relevant certifications or licenses in refrigeration, HVAC, or related fields are preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $23.56-$35.00 per hour
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
