We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. This position is ideal for an organized and self-motivated accounting professional who enjoys working independently while supporting a growing business. Initially, the successful candidate may work additional days to become familiar with our systems and processes before transitioning to approximately one day per week.
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will manage the day-to-day financial administration of the business, including accounts payable, bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records using Sage.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and vendor invoices.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using Sage.
- Process payroll accurately and on time.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Maintain supplier accounts and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Assist with government remittances, month-end and year-end processes.
- Maintain organized financial records.
- Support management with financial information and perform other accounting duties as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day accounting functions of a small business, including accounts payable, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial record keeping.
- Experience processing payroll.
- Sage experience is a strong asset.
- Strong bookkeeping knowledge, reconciliations, and month-end procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced accounting professional who understands the unique financial needs of a small business and can independently manage day-to-day accounting functions.
The successful candidate will be experienced in handling small business accounting, reliable, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing bookkeeping, payroll, vendor payments, and financial records with minimal supervision.
Schedule
Approximately one day per week once training is complete. Additional days may be required during onboarding. Flexible scheduling is available.
