Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Student Leaders to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and fostering a positive learning environment. This position is for a Post Secondary student returning to school full time in the fall.
Child Development Programs:
· Plan daily activities for children age 2-5
· Document Children’s learning
· Building a relationship of trust; mutual respect and caring for children and parents/caregivers
· Guiding and assisting children in the techniques of proper bathroom, eating, and dressing habits;
· Using redirection and guidance to assist children in understanding and verbally expressing their emotions as an alternative to physical aggression;
· Providing the children with opportunities for social interactions within the context of play-based learning;
· Modelling a safe, secure and creative learning environment for children and parents/caregivers;
Qualifications
- Strong interest in working with children
- Experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not mandatory
- Must be able to commit to scheduled shifts and uphold safety and professionalism standards
Pay: $17.00 per hour
