Pet Care Provider (Dog Walking, Pet Sitting & House Sitting)

Active Furiends is a trusted and growing pet care company based in Calgary, and we are excited to be expanding into Airdrie and surrounding communities. We are currently looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional Pet Care Provider to help us grow our presence in the area.
This position is ideal for someone who loves animals, enjoys working independently, and is looking for consistent daytime hours with opportunities for overnight and extended pet sitting assignments.
Availability Required
✔ Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM availability required
✔ Additional evening, overnight, and weekend opportunities available if desired
✔ Must be comfortable completing overnight pet sitting assignments lasting 5–7 days, with some bookings extending to 2+ weeks
Services You'll Provide
Dog Walking
- Group dog walks
- Private one-on-one walks
- Exercise, enrichment, and socialization opportunities
- Safe handling of dogs of all sizes and personalities
Drop-In Pet Visits
- Feeding and fresh water
- Cat care and litter box maintenance
- Small animal care
- Medication administration when required
- Potty breaks and companionship visits
House Sitting & Pet Sitting
- Staying overnight in clients' homes while they travel
- Following detailed pet care routines
- Maintaining a clean and respectful environment
- Providing daily updates, photos, and communication with pet parents
- Comfortable caring for multiple pets during extended stays
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of every pet in your care
- Monitor pet health and behavior, reporting concerns promptly
- Administer medications as instructed
- Provide mental stimulation, enrichment, and exercise
- Clean up pet waste and maintain tidy care areas
- Arrive on time and complete all scheduled visits reliably
- Build positive relationships with clients through professional communication
Qualifications
✔ Minimum 1 year of pet care experience (professional or personal)
✔ Must be 18 years of age or older
✔ Clean criminal background check
✔ Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (required)
✔ Comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
✔ Able to work independently and responsibly
✔ Strong communication and customer service skills
✔ Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
✔ Pet First Aid Certified or willing to complete our in-house Pet First Aid training
✔ Able to lift up to 70 lbs when necessary
