Gymnastics Coach Associate & Coach In Training (Competitive, Recreational & Pre-School Programs)
Athletica Gymnastics Inc. is a privately owned and operated gymnastics club. We are proud to offer quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programs in a safe, fun, energetic and motivating environment. We are seeking a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool, Recreational, Developmental and Competitive gymnastics coaches to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching, teaching, and working with children. This role involves instructing students in gymnastics while fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting physical fitness and safety. The Gymnastics Coach will play a vital role in developing students' skills while ensuring their safety and engagement during classes.

PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES
- Provide quality training sessions with energy and enthusiasm!
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to various skill levels
- Demonstrate proper techniques for tumbling, balance beam, vault, and floor routines
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve performance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all equipment is used correctly
- Manage behaviours and maintain a positive, inclusive environment for all participants
- Collaborate with parents and staff to support student development goals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gym area and equipment
- Assist with special events or competitions as needed
- Display coaching competency in making effective use of theoretical and technical knowledge
- Use training time to full advantage. i.e. effective use of equipment, effective coaching applications such as group work, stations, rotations and circuits: effective communication to reduce time wasted and to increase activity.
- Ability to teach children of different ages and skill levels with patience and enthusiasm
- Come prepare to teach with written lessons plans as directed by your Team lead Coach. Evaluate and make notes after class each class. (Video resources are available for all of the skills you will need to teach and develop) training by our head coach and/or Senior team lead is provided.
- Record and maintain attendance record and progress of your classes, including notation on risk management and prevention.
- Complete administrative documents accurate and on time i.e. time-sheets, evaluation, reports etc. (our system is based on a continuous skill assessment and follows our gymnastics curriculum).
- Perform coaching duties demonstrating caring nature for participants and reflecting a respect in sport philosophy. Duties must be performed in support and accordance with: Athletica Gymnastics Philosophy, AGF code of Ethics, AGF code of Conduct, AGF and Athletica Gymnastics policies and GCG LTAD
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with students in sports coaching, physical education, or childcare settings is highly desirable
- Background in gymnastics or related disciplines such as cheerleading, martia arts (karate, judo) is preferred
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques to foster discipline and motivation
- Ability to create a safe environment by adhering to safety standards and equipment guidelines
- Works effectively in co-operation with other coaches and staff of Athletica Gymnastics and attends monthly coaches meetings and technical planning meetings as required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate young learners
- Strong class management skills and understanding of physical literacy.
- Great multi-tasker with experience in coaching circuit-based gymnastics classes.
- Understanding how to provide constant constructive feedback, making course adjustments and providing encouragement to help our athletes to achieve their personal best.
- Ability to adapt to our level system, follow lessons plans and adjust lessons plans if required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Minimum NCCP Level 1 Foundations (trained)
- Preferred level 1 certified coach or willing to obtain the NCCP certification within a year (we pay for your training) some conditions apply.
- Or a Physical Education - Kinesiology year 2 student with 1 year working experience with children in previous sports roles and willing to pursue gymnastics certification within a year.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- First Aid and CPR certified
- Respect in Sports

Pay: $16.00-$45.00 per hour
