NEW BAR OPENING — JUNE/JULY 2026
We're opening our doors in Calgary this June/July and building the founding service team. Get in on the ground floor.
About Us
Born and bred in Vancouver’s vibrant Mount Pleasant neighborhood, Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is officially making the leap and expanding to Calgary!
We are a cocktail bar disguised as a postmodern thrift shop — part industrial warehouse, part breezy patio, all retro-cool. We pour an ever-rotating list of forward-thinking cocktails, fire up an Argentinian-style wood and charcoal grill, and treat hospitality like it matters. Because it does. We’re thrilled to bring our unique blend of nostalgia and high-energy hospitality to a whole new city.
The Role
We're hiring a Food Runner / Busser who keeps the engine of our dining room running smoothly. You are the vital link between the kitchen, the bar, and the guests. You’ll be moving fast, anticipating needs before they happen, and making sure our servers have exactly what they need to succeed. We move fast, we care about the details, and we'd rather have a great teammate than a great resume.
What You'll Do
- Deliver the Goods: Promptly and accurately run food from our wood-fired grill and drinks from the bar to guest tables, knowing the menu well enough to answer quick questions.
- Clear & Reset: Efficiently clear dirty dishes, glassware, and debris from tables, bar tops, and service stations. Sanitize and reset tables quickly to keep guest wait times low.
- Pre-bus: Work alongside servers to clear plates and glasses during the meal, reading the table to keep clutter away.
- Support the Squad: Keep service stations fully stocked with polished silverware, clean glassware, napkins, ice, and prep items.
- Maintain the Vibe: Ensure the dining room, patio, and service areas remain clean, organized, and looking sharp throughout the shift.
- Pitch In: Help out with opening setups, side work, and closing breakdowns—we all leave when the work is done.
Who You Are
- High Energy & Stamina: You thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You love staying active and moving with purpose.
- Calm Under Fire: When the kitchen pass is loaded and a 6-top needs a clear-down at 9 PM, you don't flinch.
- A Great Teammate: You have a "no task is too small" mindset. You communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, and floor with zero drama.
- Genuinely Curious: You want to learn about food and drinks. This role is the absolute best track to becoming a server or bartender here.
- Available Nights & Weekends: Most shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 4 PM to close.
- Physically Able: You can be on your feet for long shifts, lift heavy trays, and carry bus tubs (up to 40 lbs).
- 18+ (Required in Alberta to clear and handle alcoholic beverages).
Required
- Valid ProServe certification before your first shift (Alberta law).
