Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Refuse Collector to join our waste management team. This role involves collecting and transporting refuse from commercial locations to designated disposal sites. The ideal candidate will be committed to safety, punctuality, and providing excellent service to the community. Heavy lifting and driving skills are essential for success in this position.
Operate
- Collect waste, recyclables, or compost from commercial, or industrial customers
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials according to company policies and environmental regulations
- Assist with loading and unloading waste containers, often requiring heavy lifting
- Maintain accurate records of collections and route completion
- Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws during operations
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route issues or safety concerns
Experience
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and consistently throughout the shift
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
- Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions is a plus
- Strong physical stamina and attention to safety standards are essential for success in this role
