We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to support purchasing and production operations in the GTA, Ontario. This role focuses on coordinating material flow, strengthening supplier relationships, and helping ensure components are available to meet manufacturing needs. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial judgment, hands-on ERP experience, and a solid understanding of sheet metal components within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee purchasing activities to maintain a reliable supply of materials and components required for production schedules.
- Build and manage productive relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure favourable terms, dependable service, and consistent quality.
- Review quotations and negotiate pricing arrangements that support cost control while meeting operational requirements.
- Use ERP systems to track orders, monitor inventory-related information, and improve purchasing accuracy across daily operations.
- Coordinate the handling and movement of materials to help maintain efficient production flow and reduce delays.
- Support office-based administrative functions connected to procurement, documentation, and internal coordination.
- Work with teams involved in manufacturing to source sheet metal components that align with technical and production specifications.
- Maintain controlled documents and purchasing records to support compliance, traceability, and organized file management.
- At least 7 years of experience in production, purchasing, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP solutions and their use in purchasing, inventory, and operational processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers and vendors, including negotiations related to pricing and service terms.
- Familiarity with materials handling practices in a production or industrial environment.
- Understanding of sheet metal components and the procurement considerations associated with them.
- Ability to manage controlled documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in office functions such as reporting, coordination, and maintaining organized records.
