Job Summary
SkilledReady is currently hiring Warehouse Associates / Delivery Helpers for a busy building materials supplier in Ottawa (Nepean).
This position is primarily warehouse-based and involves loading, unloading, organizing, and moving construction materials throughout the warehouse. Successful candidates will also assist with local deliveries to construction sites using company vehicles when required.
The ideal candidate has a valid G licence, enjoys physical work, and is comfortable working in both warehouse and delivery environments.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles for delivery routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, unload, and move products within the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks
- Assist with inventory management, including moving stock and organizing storage areas
- Communicate effectively with customers during delivery, providing excellent customer service
- Ensure timely deliveries by planning efficient routes and managing schedules
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Load and unload building materials such as roofing, siding, flooring, tile, and related products
- Assist with local curbside deliveries to construction sites and customers
- Work safely as part of a two-person delivery team
Skills
- Valid G license with a clean driving record for commercial driving responsibilities
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (preferred)
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and moving items safely
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with team members and customers
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous
- Ability to handle moving tasks efficiently within tight deadlines
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to warehouse operations and driving tasks
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
