Responsibilities and Duties
- Weld/fabricate in-shop with occasional on-site
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications and assembly drawings
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment (i.e. Metal-cored arc welding (MCAW))
- Operate manual flame-cutting equipment
- Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
- Determine weldability of materials
- Set up and operate welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
- Supply minimal hand tools and safety boots
- Operate saws, drills, and ironworkers to fabricate according to drawings
- Overtime is available
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred 3 years experience in a welding / fabrication setting
- Experience with all types of fabrication tools and processes preferred
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must have an understanding of welding/fabricating
- Must be capable of rigging, hoisting, and able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to work independently and be a good problem solver
- Should be organized and efficient and able to maintain a clean workspace
- Should have competent communications skills both written and verbal
- Able to understand and read a variety of measuring tools
- G Class License is an asset
- Comfortable in a shop or outdoor setting
- Must be able to pass a CWB welder qualification test
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
