Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Post Office Clerk to join our team. Duties
- Assist customers with mailing packages, purchasing postage, and mailing services
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform cashiering duties
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, scanning, and distributing mail items
- Provide product demonstrations related to postal services and merchandise offerings
- Upsell additional postal products and services to meet customer needs
- Maintain organized workstations and ensure compliance with postal regulations
- Answer customer inquiries via phone or in person with professional communication skills
- Support merchandising efforts within the retail space of the post office
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times
- Utilize technology for tracking shipments, processing transactions, and managing inventory
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or technical sales is preferred
- Bilingual skills (English and additional languages) are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and basic math for transaction accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening abilities
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience in merchandising or product demos is advantageous but not required
