Position Overview
The Collision Center Production Assistant / Shop Hand supports daily production operations within the collision repair facility. This role ensures vehicles are properly organized, assists technicians and management, maintains shop cleanliness, and helps keep the production flow running efficiently. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive repair environment.
Key Responsibilities
Morning Operations
- Clock in at 7:00 AM and assist with pulling out any vehicles that were pulled into the shop overnight.
- Meet with the Production Manager to receive updates on daily priorities.
- Begin checking in production vehicles and preparing them for work.
Mid-Morning to Noon
- Continue vehicle check-ins and support production workflow.
- Assist with vehicle deliveries to dealerships or other locations as required.
- Communicate regularly with the Production Manager regarding priorities and tasks.
- During downtime, maintain shop cleanliness by disposing of garbage and organizing work areas.
Afternoon Operations
- Assist around the shop with tasks such as:
- Moving and staging production vehicles
- Basic vehicle detailing
- Supporting technicians as needed
- Clean and tidy production bays and common shop areas.
- Dispose of garbage and recycling as required.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Production Manager throughout the afternoon to support ongoing tasks.
Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- Ability to lift and move materials and stand/walk for extended periods
Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
- Basic understanding of automotive shop operations is an asset
