Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Summary: We are hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to work with one of our automotive clients! The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality within an automotive Tier 1 environment, with strong involvement in new program launches. This role is best suited for a proactive, reliable professional who takes initiative, communicates confidently, and is ready to make an immediate impact!
Job Location: 20–25 minutes west of Markham, ON.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 100% on-site.
Shift Structure: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Compensation Structure: $65,000 to $75,000depending on experience + benefits + RRSP match up to 3% after 6 months of employment & 5% after 1 year with the company.
Responsibilities:
· Manage and monitor supplier quality performance to ensure compliance with company and customer standards
· Support new product launches by coordinating APQP activities and supplier readiness
· Conduct supplier audits, evaluations, and performance reviews
· Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related quality issues (e.g., 8D reports)
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and procurement
· Ensure suppliers meet PPAP requirements and maintain proper documentation
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality and delivery performance
· Act as the primary point of contact for supplier quality concerns and escalation
Skills/Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer
· Automotive Tier 1 experience is required
· Strong experience supporting new product launch programs (APQP/PPAP)
· Solid understanding of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, and root cause analysis
· Ability to work independently and “hit the ground running”
· Strong communication skills with the confidence to hold suppliers accountable
· Highly proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented
· Demonstrated initiative with a go-getter mindset
· Familiarity with IATF 16949 standards is considered an asset
