The Project Manager serves as a Program/Domain Delivery Owner, leading complex, cross-functional R&D initiatives across software, firmware, and hardware development teams. This role is responsible for driving the successful execution of strategic product and technology programs by coordinating delivery across multiple teams, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring alignment between engineering, product management, and business stakeholders.
Operating with a high degree of independence, the Project Manager provides leadership in planning, governance, and delivery execution, while fostering transparency, accountability, and predictable outcomes. This role plays a key part in enabling scalable development practices and ensuring programs deliver measurable technical and business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Help define, refine, structure, and document project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage day-to-day project operations including backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demos.
- Track and report project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs) on a weekly basis.
- Identify, document, communicate, and mitigate risks and dependencies.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage communication with external vendors and partners as needed.
- Ensure that project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years experience managing technology development projects.
- Proven track record of delivering complex software systems on time and within budget.
- Deep familiarity with agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Atlassian project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and Microsoft O365 suite.
- Experience working with cross-functional, remote, and globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is an asset.
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices is an asset.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), secure development practices, and quality assurance processes is an asset.
- Basic understanding of industrial control, embedded systems, IoT, or electric heat tracing is an asset.
