Overview of the Position:
The Parts Person is the first point of contact for internal and external customers, playing a key role in shaping the customer experience. This role supports the Service and Production Departments, in addition to walk in/phone customers. The Parts Person identify parts, process orders, provide technical information, and ensure smooth communication between Frontier’s departments.
The Parts Person contributes directly to departmental revenue by ensuring customers receive the correct parts, related components, and value-added recommendations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Provide exceptional support to internal and external customers.
- Handle all inquiries via phone, email, and in person with a positive, professional attitude.
- Identify parts accurately using electronic catalogs and technical references.
- Recommend related items and ensure customers receive complete solutions.
- Resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Support the Service Department by preparing parts for work orders.
- Provide after hours on call support when scheduled.
- Maintain a clean, organized, customer friendly parts counter area.
Technical & Product Knowledge
- Strong understanding of engine components, mechanical systems, and related parts.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic parts catalogs and diagrams.
- Familiarity with consumables, hardware, and common service parts.
- Understanding of 5S principles and maintaining an organized workspace.
- Basic understanding of interdepartmental workflows with shop teams.
- Ability to identify parts based on descriptions and/or equipment models.
ERP, Processes & Coordination
- Proficient in ERP systems for quoting, ordering, issuing, and receiving parts. Experience using Epicor considered an asset.
- Familiar with shipping and receiving procedures (courier, LTL, cross border).
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles (FIFO, stock rotation).
- Coordinate with Procurement Department when parts are unavailable or require sourcing.
- Follow established processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Support internal communication between Parts, Service, and the Production Departments.
Experience and Qualifications:
Hard Skills (Technical Requirements)
- Parts identification using electronic catalogs.
- Knowledge of engine components and mechanical systems.
- ERP system experience (quoting, ordering, issuing). Epicor experience preferred.
- Basic shipping/receiving knowledge.
- 1-2 years forklift experience preferred.
- Red Seal Parts Technician or apprentice preferred.
- Ability to prepare shipping documents and manifests.
- Good computer skills (MS Office, email, digital catalogs).

Work Environment:
A Parts Person will occasionally be required to perform repetitive motions, including lifting, squatting, kneeling, bending, walking, torquing, pulling, carrying, pulling, crouching, backward positions, standing for extended periods, etc.
Physical Job Requirement:
This position requires occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. throughout a workday.
