Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Front House Staff member to join the team at Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto Restaurant. This role is essential in providing exceptional guest experiences through attentive service, efficient food handling, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, food industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
- Take orders accurately using POS systems, including Micros POS, and handle cashiering duties with precision
- Manage guest inquiries and assist with menu recommendations, upselling items when appropriate
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained during food handling and preparation
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Handle cash transactions efficiently, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Maintain cleanliness of the front of house area, including dining space, counters, and service stations
- Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods
- Support guest services by addressing concerns promptly and professionally to enhance overall guest satisfaction
Experience
- Previous food service or restaurant experience of 3 years is required
- Smart serve certification aquired.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly touchbistro / lightspeed
- Level 1 Proficiency in Japanese and/or Level B2 TOEIC English proficiency.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and guest engagement
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and food handling procedures. Food Handling certificate preferred.
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is beneficial but not mandatory
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $17.20-$25.16 per hour
