Overview
We are seeking an Equipment Maintenance Apprentice to join our team. This position offers hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment and tools used for sheet metal manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and learning about heavy equipment operation. This apprenticeship provides an excellent foundation for those looking to develop skills in equipment maintenance, repair, and mechanical systems within a dynamic environment. The role is designed to produce a fully capable maintenance professional in the company.
Duties
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment including perforating presses, CNC machines, electronic components, etc.
- Learn to interpret schematics and technical manuals for equipment troubleshooting
- Support the disassembly and assembly of mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and part replacement
- Operate or assist with the operation of heavy equipment under supervision, such as overhead cranes and fork lifts
- Aid in electrical system diagnostics and repairs on various types of equipment
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities
- Document maintenance procedures and repairs accurately for record keeping
Experience
- Hands-on work with mechanical devices and equipment is a plus
- Prior exposure to welding, grinding, fabricating
- Mechanical knowledge gained through problem solving is advantageous
- Experience with electrical systems, schematics reading, or welding is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques is desirable

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
