ABOUT THE POSITION
Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for Concrete Quality Coordinator to work on various Northern Projects and other locations. The successful candidate will work on a rotational schedule, based in a remote work camp environment.
Compensation dependent on experience; position includes comprehensive benefits package and rotational allowance.
SCOPE
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards, specifications, and internal procedures;
- Ensure Civil, Structural and Concrete ITP stages are followed and complied;
- Assist the Superintendent in the coordination of concrete foundation activities;
- Participate in the review of all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings, and initiate appropriate corrective actions;
- Validate construction progress and produce a daily report;
- Review work and perform inspections in the field to ensure it conforms with project drawings, specifications, details and shop drawings;
- Monitor formwork, rebar and concrete pour activities and conduct final inspection;
- Assist with take-offs for material procurement and field inventory of materials (i.e., verify vendor shipped-vs-received) as per the project specification;
- Assist with the preparation of RFI’s for the consultants;
- Assist with maintaining and updating project records including RFI’s, SI’s and as-builts;
- Assist Superintendent with managing job quality;
- Work collaboratively with Project Manager, project team members, and field staff;
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports;
- Development and maintenance of ITPs, ensuring compliance throughout the multi-discipline project.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience in concrete foundation construction;
- Experience in working within an EPC for industrial construction is an asset.
- Previous experience working on remote or industrial sites (mining, process plants or other industrial projects) is preferred
- Demonstrated experience with civil, concrete, and/or structural construction quality control processes
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural and concrete engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, reporting, and record-keeping systems
- Competent in Microsoft Office programs and QA/QC software tools
LOCATION
This position will be based in a remote Northern project site located in Nunavut. Travel to and from the project site is paid for and booked by Nahanni. In addition, Employees are entitled to a rotational travel allowance.
SCHEDULE
12 hours shifts on a two (2) weeks on - two (2) weeks off rotation, subject to change.
