THE ROLE
The purpose of the Senior Project Manager is to lead assigned construction projects from award to closeout with full accountability for profitability, schedule performance, risk management, and client experience. Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with financial targets, operational standards, and quality expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Set up and maintain clean, organized project files from project handoff to closeout
- Take full ownership of project financial performance and gross margin
- Build and manage project schedules and manpower plans
- Review and approve major procurement decisions and subcontractors
- Monitor budgets, forecasts and cost-to-complete regularly
- Identify risks early and take action before they become problems
- Lead client meetings and act as the main point of contact
- Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Coordinator to keep alignment
- Ensure billing is accurate, timely and supported with proper documentation
WHAT YOU NEED
EDUCATION
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field
- Formal project management training is an asset
- Ongoing professional development in commercial construction
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years commercial construction experience
- Experience managing budgets and cost control
- Experience reading drawings and specifications
- Experience managing subcontractors
- Experience with ERP or construction management software
- Experience leading client meetings
- Experience with contract documents and change management
