Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Child and Youth Residential Workers to support children and youth in a residential care setting. The successful candidate will help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment while assisting youth with daily living, emotional support, behavioural management, and life skills development.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and youth facing social, emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support children and youth in a residential setting
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured environment
- Assist residents with daily routines, meals, hygiene, and activities
- Support behavioural intervention and crisis prevention strategies
- Build positive therapeutic relationships with youth
- Document daily reports, incidents, and progress notes
- Administer medications when required and trained
- Accompany youth to appointments, school, and community activities
- Work collaboratively with case workers, clinicians, and families
- Follow agency policies, safety procedures, and ministry standards
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Service Work, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children and youth in residential, or community settings considered an asset
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid Ontario driver’s license required
- Valid 2 million dollar vehicle insurance
- Clear Vulnerable Sector and Broad Sector Check required
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Required (UMAB/CPI)
Schedule
- Day shifts
