About the RoleThe Clinical Pharmacist will play an integral role in delivering high-quality pharmacy services while ensuring compliance with all Ontario regulations, standards of practice, and Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) guidelines. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued expansion of our clinical offerings and help elevate patient care within our communities.We are seeking someone who is proactive, adaptable, compassionate, and eager to grow both professionally and personally as our organization continues to expand.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Services
- Provide direct patient care and medication management services
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and medication reconciliations
- Assess prescriptions for appropriateness, drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and therapeutic outcomes
- Provide evidence-based counselling and patient education
- Administer injections and immunizations in accordance with Ontario regulations
- Assess and prescribe for minor ailments within authorized scope of practice
- Provide smoking cessation services and chronic disease management support
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Monitor patient adherence and follow-up on therapy effectiveness
- Identify and resolve drug therapy problems
- Support public health initiatives and pharmacy clinical programs
Regulatory & Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, and relevant provincial/federal legislation
- Ensure all activities comply with the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, Narcotic Control Regulations, and other applicable laws
- Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation in accordance with privacy legislation and professional standards
- Uphold standards related to narcotic and controlled substance management
- Ensure all prescription processing, clinical documentation, and workflow practices meet audit and accreditation requirements
- Practice within scope while exercising sound professional judgment and accountability
Pharmacy Operations & Team Leadership
- Support daily operational efficiency
- Foster a positive, respectful, and patient-centered workplace culture
- Assist in implementing and expanding clinical pharmacy services
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement processes
- Contribute to business growth through exceptional patient service and community engagement
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Injection certification and authorization to administer injections in Ontario
- Minor ailment prescribing experience or willingness to expand clinical scope
- Strong knowledge of Ontario pharmacy regulations and OCP standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency with Kroll or other pharmacy management software considered an asset
- Previous community pharmacy experience preferred

Pay: $55.00-$58.00 per hour
