Duties
- Providing person-centered employment counseling services to individuals.
- Providing support and skill development in areas related to obtaining employment such as job search strategies, job application, resume writing and interview skills.
- Completing individual assessments of supported individuals and, based on their profile, providing assistance with job search skills, as well as obtaining the necessary support, training, skills development and education in order to maintain employment.
- Finding employment opportunities for individuals. Contacting potential employers in order to obtain job leads, promote the program and develop relationships. Recruiting prospective suitable employers, and maintaining a positive and supportive communication in the community.
- Maintaining and providing current employment-related information such as labor market information, employment standards regulations and information on other community resources and services.
- Conducting group sessions such as information sessions, workshops and job finding clubs.
- Maintaining the values of the TCS, CLBC, legislative, and CARF requirements.
Experience in providing employment support to individuals in the community is preferred.
Possessing a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and a personal vehicle to utilize for work purposes is required. Mileage is paid as per the Collective Agreement.
