We are currently looking for a MOBILE Licensed Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic based out of our Red Deer location to diagnose, maintain and repair of Hydrovacs. This position could travel to remote locations but will mainly working in Central Alberta . Must be able to work overtime and travel away from home if/when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repairs may include: cooling systems, air systems, fuel and exhaust systems, brakes and tires, hydraulic and electrical systems and lubrication systems.
Qualifications:
- Valid Heavy Duty Journeyman Licence
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Must have a strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Trouble shooting skills a must
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Willing to travel
- Ability to perform heavy component installations
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Required to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
- Normal range of hearing and vision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals
- Basic computer and internet literacy
- Use computer diagnostic equipment
- Answering all service calls
- Completing all necessary paperwork
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
- All communication with customer
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
- Installation of components
- Test operation of completed unit
- Install heavy components such as PTO’s and pumps
- Install components in truck cabs and on truck bodies
- Keep service truck neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times
- Install and test hydraulic systems
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
