Overview
We are looking for a motivated individual with experience operating a double needle sewing machine to fabricate high-quality awning and screen products. Familiarity with Tenara thread and grommet machines is required. The role also involves identifying fabric dimensions from work orders and cutting fabric from our in-house inventory prior to sewing.
Additionally, we are seeking someone eager to grow into a broader production role, including training on:
- Miller welding equipment for acrylic fabrics
- Vinyl graphic baking using a specialized heat-application machine
Key Responsibilities
- Operate double needle industrial sewing machines for awning and screen fabrication
- Identify and interpret fabric sizes from work orders
- Cut fabric to specified dimensions from stocked inventory prior to fabrication
- Sew using Tenara thread for UV-resistant and weatherproof seams
- Install grommets using industrial equipment
- Assist with Miller welding of acrylic fabric panels
- Apply vinyl graphics to fabric using a baking/heat press machine
- Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized workspace
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure production deadlines and quality standards are met
Qualifications
- Experience with industrial sewing machines (double needle preferred)
- Comfortable working with outdoor-grade fabrics (acrylic, vinyl, etc.)
- Familiarity with Tenara thread and grommet installation
- Ability to accurately interpret work orders and cut fabric to required sizes
- Willingness to learn Miller welding and vinyl baking techniques
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and craftsmanship
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team
