PWO Canada is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier for auto manufacturers globally. We are one of five subsidiaries in the PWO AG Group, manufacturing lightweight metal components for the automotive industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma. Tow motor operator certification.
Knowledge & Skills: The incumbent must be competent in driving a tow motor. The position must have good knowledge of the MRP system.
- Ford CMMS
- Experience leading teams, with a background in first level supervision
- Knowledge of creating shipping documentation
- Good working knowledge of the Ford Q1 requirements
- Good working knowledge of the AIAG labeling requirements
- Customs requirements
Communication Skills Good oral and written communication skills are required in order to take follow work instruction, take direction from his/her Supervisor and discuss any problems impeding job performance, and normal technical/business communication. Bring issues to the forefront and develop solutions for Management review.
Experience: At least five years of experience shipping and receiving in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizes and delegates work within the department according to instructions and work schedules, ensuring that:
- All shipping functions are performed as required. Prepares all manufactured production parts and subcontracted parts for shipment by packing when necessary, weighing parts and loading shipments on trucks. Unloads the return of empty customer containers.
- Performs any type of material handling when necessary
- All receiving functions as required. Unloads all raw materials from trucks and performs visual inspection of materials. Enters all raw material received into the MRP system. Identifies unacceptable incoming materials and stages acceptable materials.
- All raw materials by ensuring the material is transported to production workstations.
- Shipping and receiving paperwork is completed as required.
- Enters all data into the SAP / ODC to generate the necessary paperwork.
- Maintain and perform Health & Safety requirements with the drivers and collaborate with other departments to improve the overall H&S at PWO Canada.
- Maintain the Warehouse organized including all type of materials, bins, racks and Totes.
- Collaborate and Perform tasks to minimize the waste, cost and environmental impact
- Completes receiving data entry for raw materials delivery or purchased parts.
- Work as liaison among the other departments to facilitate effectively the communication and support any issues.
- CMMS checks and input is completed in a timely manner.
Ensures the correct documentation including customs paperwork is sent as required for all shipments.
Coordinates and provides training within the team across all shifts including new employees.
Performs all duties within the 5S standards.
- General housekeeping and maintenance practices are being followed
- Passageway and stairs kept free of obstruction.
Follow all health and safety procedures and requirements, including:
- Working safely and keeping a safe working area for all employees. Reporting all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Inspections conducted on all pieces of equipment.
- Identify and assign tasks where workers may be required to be involved in material handling.
- Identify, anticipate and assist in the development of controls/best practices for material handling hazards.
- Ensure workers comply with the OHSA and its regulations.
- Advise workers of any potential or actual health or safety hazards known by the supervisor.
- Where necessary, ensure that written work procedure are completed and that they are readily available to workers
- If prescribed, provide workers with written instructions about measures and procedures to be taken for the workers’ protection.
- Ensure controls identified are followed for safe work in material handling activities.
- Ensure that workers are provided with equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), appropriate training or other resources as identified.
- When required, where Logistic work is contracted to external parties, equivalent procedures should be followed
Lead the Drivers on your shift, including co-leading the Night shift together with the Afternoon/Day Shift Team Leader, Logistics Coordinator, Supervisor and Manager.
Proper use of electronic data collection equipment.
Follows and performs to the instructions as outlined in the Work Area Reference Manual(s) applicable to the department.
