Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic female Support Worker to support our 24 year old daughter. She is hoping to find someone close to her age who shares similar interests and enjoys being active in the community.
This is a part time position with weekend hours and some weekday evenings. There is also the possibility of occasional overnight shifts for the right candidate. Hours offer some flexibility.
Typical Schedule
- Friday: 6:00pm-10:00pm
- Satuday:10:00am-6:00pm(with occasional evening hours)
- Sunday: 10:00 am-6:00 pm
- Some weekday evenings as needed.
This position would be an excellent opportunity for a University student studying Social Work,Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, (no lifting required).
- Support meal preparation and provide feeding when needed.
- Administer medication as prescribed including insulin injections, and monitor her blood sugar levels (type 1 diabetic).
- Engage in meaningful activities, such as going to Vancouver for Drag shows, and concerts to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping to help maintain a clean, safe and organize.
- Drive our daughters wheelchair accessible van to appointments and community activities.
Qualifications
- No previous experience is required-comprehensive training will be provided,
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is an asset.
- A caring, patient, and dependable nature with a genuine interest in supporting others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid BC drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Criminal Record check required.
- Excellent command with spoken and written english.

Pay: From $26.50 per hour
