We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Hand/baker to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, cooking, and food service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, possess strong food handling skills, and maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation including assembling ingredients, mixing, moulding and baking of fresh bread and sweets daily
- Cook and prepare all items according to established recipes and standards
- Bake fresh throughout the day based on customer demand
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food products safely, ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed
- Support the team during busy service periods by managing requests from sales team to meet customer requests
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Contribute to inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly attitude towards customers and team members
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving kitchen needs
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required
- Food industry experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for motivated individuals
