The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Salary Range: $65,000.00 to $76,000.00

About the Opportunity
You will play a key role in supporting the finance team by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions while maintaining strong financial controls. You will be responsible for invoice verification, vendor account management, payment processing, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end accounting activities. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of accounting functions, including payroll support, while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

You are a detail-oriented and highly organized accounting professional with post-secondary education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration, and experience working in accounts payable. You possess strong analytical skills and have experience processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and investigating discrepancies. Experience with SAP and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel are considered strong assets.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties

Responsible for all accounting work associated with processing accounts payables by reviewing and verifying that all invoices match to a purchase order and/or approval and packing slips (3-way matching)

Respond to inquiries from vendors and employees regarding payment status

Preparation of payment run via Visa, EFT, and Cheque

Matching of invoices to cheques and EFT remittance documents

Review of goods received not invoiced listing and investigation of outstanding items

Review of vendor statements and investigation of outstanding items

Filing of vendor invoices and payment support

Reconciliation of payable and accrual accounts monthly.

Complete invoicing of vendors for materials used in accordance with contractual agreements

Cross-train in all critical aspects of payroll in order to act as backup for Payroll Coordinator

Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience

Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or Bookkeeping

Prior experience working with accounts payable

Experience with SAP

Ability to communicate effectively

Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently

Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

Experience with working with Microsoft Office Products, including strong excel skills.

Location: Sault Ste. Marie, ON
Shift / Hours of Work: 8 hours
Schedule / Rotation: 5 on, 2 off
