We're hiring: Mid-Level Product Owner
We're looking for a Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of product strategy and execution.
In this role, you'll take high-level product decisions—such as new user flows, feature additions, workflow changes, and feature deprecations—and translate them into clear, actionable, developer-ready requirements. You'll play a key role in connecting the product vision with our engineering teams, ensuring that ideas become well-defined solutions that can be delivered effectively.
We're looking for someone who can operate with a high degree of autonomy: someone who manages their own workload, asks the right questions without waiting to be prompted, and proactively identifies risks before they become blockers.
What you'll do:
- Translate product decisions into clearly scoped requirements and development tickets
- Write detailed user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria, covering both expected scenarios and edge cases
- Identify dependencies, technical constraints, and open questions before work reaches the development team
- Lead and facilitate refinement sessions with web and mobile developers, driving alignment and surfacing blockers early
- Create and manage Jira artifacts, including epics, stories, subtasks, labels, priorities, and sprint assignments
- Maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog that is groomed, estimated, and ready for upcoming sprints
- Serve as the primary point of contact between product and engineering throughout execution
- Proactively flag ambiguity, scope creep, and delivery risks
What we're looking for:
Must-have qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Product Owner
- Experience working with both web and mobile products
- Strong technical understanding—you don't need to code, but you should be comfortable discussing solutions, trade-offs, and implementation approaches with developers
- English proficiency at C1 level or above, as you'll collaborate daily with a distributed international team and write all documentation in English
- Advanced Jira skills, with the ability to maintain a well-structured and efficient board
- Experience facilitating refinement sessions and driving them toward clear outcomes and next steps
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in EdTech or adjacent sectors, such as e-learning, digital assessment, or LMS platforms
If you enjoy bringing clarity to complexity, collaborating closely with engineering teams, and turning ideas into deliverable outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
We are a remote first company and this role is 100% remote. We are looking for candidates located outside of Canada and the US. Preference may be given to candidates who can work in a similar time zone to EST.
