Store Manager – Outdoor & Firearms Retail
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
Hougen's Sportslodge is seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead our outdoor and firearms retail operation in Whitehorse, Yukon.
This is an opportunity to join one of the North's premier outdoor retailers and lead a passionate team serving hunters, anglers, campers, shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts from across Yukon and Northern Canada.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of retail staff
- Drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service
- Manage inventory, merchandising, and store presentation
- Oversee firearms compliance and regulatory requirements
- Analyze sales performance and implement growth strategies
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent
- Build strong relationships with customers and community organizations
- Ensure a safe, professional, and efficient store environment
What We're Looking For
- Previous retail management or leadership experience
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Experience with inventory management and merchandising
- Passion for hunting, shooting sports, camping, fishing, or outdoor recreation
- Ability to lead by example and deliver outstanding customer service
- Knowledge of firearms and related regulations is an asset but not required
- PAL/RPAL certification or ability to obtain.
