Position Overview:
The Meals on Wheels Service Coordinator supports the Meals on Wheels Program serving the North Shore, Vancouver, and Richmond areas. This role works closely with the team and is well suited to an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who enjoys contributing to a not-for-profit organization and giving back to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the administrative and volunteer activities associated with the home delivery of hot meals to clients.
· Coordinate scheduling activities, including daily adjustments when needed.
· Provide guidance and support to volunteers on meal pick-up, delivery and scheduling matters.
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resource management, social or community services, nutrition, gerontology, nursing or related discipline.
· 1 – 2 years experience working with seniors or in a social or community services setting or in volunteer and/ or client management.
· Administrative experience in scheduling such as home support or volunteer and/ or client scheduling &/or personal volunteer experience working in the community.
· Class 5 valid driver's license, safe driver's record and access to a vehicle during working hours required.
Skills and Abilities:
· Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, public relations, problem solving and customer service skills required.
· Proven organizational, planning and coordinating skills.
· Ability to be self-directed and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
· Demonstrated competency in written and oral English.
· Demonstrated competency in written and oral Mandarin and Cantonese an asset.
· Demonstrated computer skills that include, Word, Excel and database management.
· Availability for statutory holidays (Boxing Day & Easter Monday).
· Physical capability to perform the duties required of the position.
