Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Hairstylist Assistant to join our dynamic salon team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hair styling and salon operations while supporting our stylists and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
Assist hairstylists with client preparations, including shampooing, conditioning, and setting up tools for styling procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and salon areas in compliance with health regulations.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting clients, answering basic questions, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
Support upselling of salon products and retail items to enhance client satisfaction and increase sales.
Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, checking clients in/out, and handling payments.
Assist with retail sales by recommending products suited to clients’ hair types and styling needs.
Help maintain inventory levels of salon supplies and assist in restocking as needed.
Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with stylists and other staff members.
Requirements
Previous experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Basic knowledge of hair styling techniques or a genuine interest in learning the craft.
Understanding of sanitation standards within a salon setting.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A friendly attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a professional appearance.
Availability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if needed.
