REED Energy group has an immediate field opening for two experienced, capable HSE advisors in the Grande Prairie area.
This is a term position of approximately two months. The project is approximately 150KM from Grande Prairie and there will be LOA.
This position will assist with adherence to the Safety Management System and is responsible for providing support to the HSE Manager and regular interaction with field personnel. Occasional dedicated assignment to field projects will be required. Due to the nature of field services, a degree of flexibility is required. A mix of office and field work will be necessary.
Areas of Major Responsibilities
· Provide guidance to site personnel on safety related matters and escalate inquiries where appropriate.
· Promote the principles of safe work and encourage participation in corporate safety initiatives.
· Preform documented competency evaluations and mentor workers.
· Regularly inspect worksites for compliance with the Safety Management System, OHS Regulation, hazards, implementation of hazard controls.
· Incident investigations and root cause analysis. Assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions and review. Support site supervision in implementing corrective actions and other preventative measures.
· Suggest opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Occasional onsite assignment as a project HSE Advisor for larger projects and turn arounds.
Required Skills and Abilities
· Possess and demonstrate a high standard of professional ethics and integrity with a passion for promoting health, and safety within the workplace.
· Effective communication skills, strong verbal, written communication skills and listening abilities.
· Excellent problem solving, organizational, time management and planning capabilities.
· Strong leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate staff at all levels in promotion of safe work practices.
· Experience with Complyworks and ISNetworld is an advantage.
· Solid computer skills proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Education/Certification and Experience
· Minimum 5 years progressive experience in an HSE Advisor position in oil and gas construction or related industry.
· OHS Certificate or NCSO Certification (minimum requirement)
· Clean, valid drivers abstract.
· Standard Oilfield tickets. H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CSO.
· Experience in Federal Transport regulation, regulated drivers and hours of service monitoring is an asset.
· Be an experienced and capable HSE advisor with a passion and proven knowledge of construction safety strategies and a desire to be a versatile self-motivated team player.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$43.00 per hour
