Prefer candidates who have flexible availability who can take or cover any shifts other than mentioned shifts below, so eventually we will be able to provide full time hours to right candidates.
Position Summary:
A Sandwich Artist greets and serves guests, prepares food, maintains food safety and sanitation standards and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Prepares food neatly, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains it to guests accurately. Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests.
- Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
- Cleans as directed.
- Greets guests and prepares their orders, uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record their order, collects payment from guests and makes change.
- Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sensitization standards while preparing food, serving food and clean up.
- Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Operations Manual.
- Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
- Completes online coursework on the University of Subway® as directed.
- Complete all other assigned duties or tasks.
Pre-Requisites
- Experience: Prior working at Subway restaurant is an asset but not mandatory.
- Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed. Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire work day. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Priority will be given to candidates with:
- Flexible availability to cover any shifts
- Willingness to work closing shift at 1am
- Willingness to work at both locations and any other location if required
- Past Subway experience (applicants without Subway experience would be considered for an interview if they are willing to do 10-15 hours of voluntary training if they get selected after the interview, however the final hiring will depend on the training performance.)
Please note that the voluntary training is something that candidates would like to sign up for their consideration and employer is not entitled to pay for it, however, we would pay the right candidates for the training period but we would not be abide by that and will merely depend on candidates and their performance. Training pay will only be paid after 4 month of continuous employment. Training or to apply for this post is not being forced, its voluntary so judgements won't be acceptable.
Most likely the Shift timings can be but not limited to
7:30/8:30am to 1:30/2:30pm
11am/12pm to 3/4pm
3:30/4:30/5pm to 7/7:30/8pm
11am/12pm to 7:30/8pm
4/5pm to 1am
Minimum of 10-20 hours per week will be allocated and eventually will give full time hours for right candidates.
