The BA works with developers, project managers and clients to assess, research, analyze and document business, user, and systems requirements and recommend solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. BA’s should have a good understanding of retail banking operations and a strong understanding of BA methodology, best practices, and is able to apply these skills to achieve “best in class” product functionality.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance overall efficiency and productivity. Responsibilities:
- Lead requirement gathering workshops resulting in identifying and documenting detailed user, and business requirements and recommend solutions
- Develop future product enhancement requirements based on input gathered from a variety of sources including research and analysis of competition, best practices in the industry, and feedback from the user community
- Recommend business solutions that satisfy sponsor/ stakeholder needs continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients
- Create user and business requirement documents, business process maps, work flow diagrams, and wire frames for software features and/or supported business processes
- Lead and launch new product features and services both inside and outside the company on executing ‘best practices’ product implementations
- Transfer Knowledge of the business requirements to the technical team
- Assist with testing of the system functionality by developing test conditions, and test scenarios based on the user requirements
- Assist in creating adequate end-user manuals and training documentation
- Participate in the review of project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
- Complete the assigned deliverables and tasks within the established project timelines
- Assist the project manager with project deliverables and coordination
Experience:
- Post-secondary degree in business, commerce or related IT discipline
- 4 years Business Analyst experience within the Financial Services Industry or minimum 4 years of experience providing technical support for a financial application within the Financial Services sector
- Experience with the lending process and/or experience implementing, training or supporting lending software would be an asset
- Highly Proficient with business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio and Excel, etc.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with business partners, project stakeholders, and team members
- Strong written and spoken communication and collaboration skills
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have a positive attitude
- Comfortable developing project deliverables in all phases of the project through dialogue with clients, development team and other stakeholders
- Comfortable leading or facilitating small to large meetings and conducting information gathering sessions
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiating and consulting
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of business analysis methodology
- Ability to gather, analyze, document and validate the needs of project stakeholders
- Ability to develop and provide clear requirements documents, and be well versed in writing functional specifications
- Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly to users with various levels of knowledge of technology
- Proven track record in creating Business and user requirement documents, Test Cases, and business process diagrams
- Solid understanding and/or experience with Project Management methodology is an asset
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as SQL is an asset
