POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of HR Assistant, under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and in accordance with the Company and HR Mission, Vision and Values, is primarily responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the HR Department. This role includes assisting with recruitment, onboarding, Employee records, benefits administration, payroll support, training coordination, H&S Administration, and Employee communication. The HR Assistant serves as a key point of contact for all Employees and works closely with the HR Director, HR Generalist, and other departments to support day-to-day HR Operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with recruitment, interview scheduling, reference checks, and onboarding activities
- Prepare Employment documentation and new hire packages
- Coordinate Employee orientations and maintain recruitment records
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential Employee files and HRIS Records
- Process Employee status changes, including new hires, transfers, leaves, and terminations
- Prepare Employment letters and other HR documentation
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Assist with benefits administration and respond to Employee inquiries
- Support payroll by maintaining Employee information, attendance records, and required documentation
Health & Safety
- Maintain H&S documentation and training records
- Coordinate Employee training and monitor certification renewals
- Assist with H&S meetings and compliance activities
- Manage the full WSIB process
Employee relations
- Respond to routine Employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Support Employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality when handling Employee information
Other administrative duties as assigned
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent
- 1-2 years of progressive Human Resources work experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use Microsoft office suite ie Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills working with diverse groups
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office environment, regular hours Monday to Friday.
Pay: $52,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
