Soleful Harmony is a Canadian Choice Award-winning (2026) mobile foot care service in Calgary, operated by a licensed practical nurse. We bring evidence-based, person-centered foot care directly to clients in their homes, senior facilities, hospitals, and community centers.
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Subcontractor Foot Care Nurse to deliver high-quality, specialized foot care on a casual, part-time basis. This role is ideal for a licensed nurse who values flexibility, works well independently, and is committed to making a meaningful difference in patients' lives through expert foot care. If you take pride in your clinical standards, communicate proactively, and follow through on your commitments — we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive foot assessments to evaluate patient needs and identify potential issues
- Perform foot care procedures including nail trimming, debridement of nails, corns, and calluses, soaking, and wound dressing as appropriate
- Administer topical treatments and wound care following proper protocols
- Educate patients on foot health maintenance, proper hygiene, and injury prevention
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized foot care plans
- Document all patient interactions accurately and same-day, in accordance with medical documentation standards
- Monitor patient responses during treatments and report any concerns promptly
- Maintain strict infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards and a sterile environment throughout all procedures
- Travel to client locations across Calgary and surrounding areas
What You Must Bring
- Active Alberta nursing license (LPN or RN) in good standing
- Footcare certification
- Current CPR certification
- 1–2 years of foot care experience (required)
- Proven experience in patient care within a nursing or medical setting, preferably with a focus on foot or podiatric health
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, infection control practices, and clinical safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills — with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams
- Own malpractice / professional liability insurance
- Own WCB (Workers' Compensation Board) coverage
- Own general liability insurance
- Own foot care tools and equipment (Soleful Harmony offers tool rental for the right candidate — ask us)
This is a subcontractor position, not an employment contract. That means:
- You invoice for services rendered — you are not on payroll
- You are responsible for your own income taxes
- You track and cover your own mileage
- You carry and maintain your own insurance (malpractice, WCB, liability)
If you are an independent professional who values flexibility and autonomy, read on.
Skills matter. So does how you work. We need someone who:
- Communicates proactively. If something changes, you tell us before we have to ask.
- Follows through. Commitments are kept. Deadlines are respected.
- Is flexible and service-minded. Client appointments are spread across Calgary and surrounding areas. Travel between appointments may be 15-20 minutes. If your availability is very limited or your travel radius is very small, this role may not be the right fit.
- Is honest. If you can't do something, say so early — not the day before, and not at all.
- Works independently and professionally. This role requires a high degree of self-direction, discretion, and accountability. You maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
We take our work seriously and treat every client with dignity and respect. We are looking for someone who brings that same standard to everything they do — including their working relationship with us.
